Training Process

At Your Discovery Place an individual can enter into a training program over 4 to 18 months, depending on the course of study,  and acquire the appropriate skills for immediate employment. Because of the manner in which the training is rendered, the training can be used to establish a small business in the same field of study. This is a powerful aspect of the program that is provided in the event the individual cannot find a job; ie: ex-offenders, those who are susceptible to age and gender discrimination, and those wishing to control their own destiny.  Childcare is provided for children between 3 and 4 daily, after-school care for children through 5th grade, and summer camp for students between 3 and 10. Transportation is provided for after school care.

The training is comprehensive.  As the student learns a trade and how to enact employment around it, they also are taught how to create a lifestyle that is free of money issues, relationship problems, substance abuse, etc.  They are provided the necessary counseling and instruction for handling aspects of everyday living:  family bonding, loyalty, respect, and unity as well as setting goals for the family, money management, setting a budget, credit awareness, saving for a home, home purchase counseling, shopping smart, tax preparation, etc.  Through group therapy led by a licensed counselor, the family member can vent the stresses that impede progress in the family.
